The Section on Fish and Wildlife Resources of the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities (APLU) is one of the sections of the Board on Natural Resources of the Commission on Food, Environment, and Renewable Resources (CFERR). The APLU Section represents approximately 80 institutions to the Board and Commission. Section representatives are appointed by their respective member university presidents. NAUFWP institutional representatives are all administrators of their represented units, mostly department heads and chairs, or program leaders. NAUFWP thus functions independently of other national university, governmental, or conservation organizations. The President of NAUFWP serves as an ex-officio member of the Executive Committee of the APLU Section, and the Chairman of the APLU Section serves as an ex-officio member of the Executive Committee of NAUFWP. The two organizations cooperate and coordinate their activities for the most effective representation of their respective member institutions.
